1.3 Export sorting results

1.3.1 Export to XMP files

After the process of sorting and culling photos, which is described in section 3. Working with PhotoPicker, to export the sorting results, click on EXP button and select the option In XMP files.

It is also possible to export all flagged photos to a new album in the standard Photo Library. To do this, select the option Into new album

The process of generating all XMP files and archiving them takes a few seconds. After that, a window will appear with options: you can send the archive by mail, save to Files, or save to another cloud service:

A file name conflict warning may appear during export. This case is unlikely, but possible and can occur when, within the same shooting, different photos on different memory cards have the same name. In this case, the prefix conflicted is added to the name of conflicting XMP files.

To avoid such conflicts:

  • if you shoot with several cameras, specify different prefixes for naming files in the camera settings;

  • If the camera supports the backup to the second SD card, please specify the parallel recording mode and JPEG format for the backup card. Select the appropriate size of the card so that all photos from the shooting fit on it in JPEG format. This approach allows for unique naming of the original RAW files on the primary memory card.

1.3.2 Importing RAW and XMP originals into the photo editor

Unzip the XMP files into a separate folder and copy ALL XMPs into EVERY folder where the original RAW files are located so that they are in the same folder. It's okay if the folder contains XMP files from RAW files from other folders - photo editors will ignore all unnecessary XMP files. This approach will save time and not sort the XMP files into the correct folders.

Important: The XMP format supports color labels and ratings, but does not support flag information. Therefore, the flags will be stored as the flagged and rejected keywords, respectively. In any photo editor, you can filter images by these keywords and mark them with appropriate flags for convenience.
